Research Context

Forensic practitioners commonly develop their expertise through lengthy training and mentoring programmes, however it is not well understood how key markesr of practitioner expertise develop throughout training.

The purpose of this study is to track the development of expertise in a small cohort of newly recruited forensic face examiners as they undergo training and development of their abilities, with the aim of understanding how expertise develops over time and the differences in expertise development between individual trainee examiners.

Research Methodology

‚ÄčThe study will focus on an individual case analysis approach, with scheduled testing and evaluation of a small group of examiners as they undergo training after their recruitment.
