Research Context

​The College of Policing has developed an online assessment process for police recruits, which is enabling forces to continue recruiting during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The evaluation aims to: 

  • identify iterative enhancements to the online process itself

  • draw out learning in relation to incorporating online technology into the assessment process in the longer term.

Research Methodology

​The evaluation involves:

  • an inter-rater reliability study of assessor scoring

  • survey feedback from assessors and candidates on their experiences

  • interviews with senior stakeholders and regional and force recruitment leads

Interim reports and publications

​The evaluation will report to the Police Uplift Programme Board in October 2020
