Research Context

‚ÄčThere is little national data about the police use of and role in Restorative Justice (RJ). We know that practice is patchy and subject to change with little understanding of why innovative practices do not become embedded.

This collaboration seeks to survey the field, draw policy-makers, practitioners and academics together and to develop a deeper understanding of practice and the factors that shape and determine its course.

Research Methodology

‚ÄčA national survey is currently underway on police use of Restorative Justice with additional qualitative interviews being undertaken with those who hold RJ portfolios within their forces.

Interim reports and publications

A report on the findings is due to be made available in December 2018.

Date due for completion
