Research Context

The Better Policing Collaborative is one of the successful bids awarded funding from the Police Knowledge Fund.

Such a group has to date acted in an advisory capacity for one force’s Covert Operations Unit. With the national rollout of Regional Organised Crime Units this group will be expanded such that each Unit will be able to feed into it to seek expertise as well as receive intelligence that comes out of the group.

Research Methodology

  • Six meetings (3 per year) for the group;
  • Four proof of principle, small-scale studies to feed into larger funding applications;
  • For each proof of principle study, two working group meetings to design the study and prepare dissemination materials for police and other sector organisations.
